Energy Efficiency Improvement Service
The Energy Efficiency (Private Rented Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015 established a minimum level of energy efficiency for privately rented property in England and Wales. This means that, from April 2018, all privately rented domestic properties must achieve a minimum Energy Performance Rating of E prior to granting a new tenancy to new or existing tenants. From 1st April 2020 this will include existing tenancies as well as newly tenanted properties.
Our Energy Efficiency Improvement Service is there to aid in the improvement transition. We will look at eligibility for property improvement funding through funding providers such as The Green Deal, available grants to help with required improvements and also applying and registering for EPC exemptions if the property is eligible. Our support service will be able to help get most properties to an acceptable standard ready for the 2020 energy efficient minimum standards.
