Specification & Tendering

We advise all of our clients that the most cost effective way to procure a contractor is usually by competitive tendering whereby a detailed specification of works is produced and submitted to a number of local contractors with strict rules for the pricing and tender returns in order to ensure competitiveness and confidentiality.

At Cockrams we prepare full specifications of works in accordance with our clients’ needs which will contain all of the details in order for a contractor to successfully price the works and will contain all of the necessary details in relation to finishes etc. which the client wishes to install in the completed project. The specification of works is itemised in order that the costs of individual items can be assessed and altered / removed if not required. We also offer a full tendering service whereby we submit detailed drawings and specifications to local contractors with a proven track record with a fixed return date. During the tender process we will deal with all tender queries and can organise site visits by the contractors if this is required.

When all tenders have been received we prepare full tender reports with cost analysis and breakdowns in order that an informed decision can be made and the client is able to instruct the most appropriate contractor for the project.
