Petrolab, a mineralogy and petrography specialist based in Redruth, Cornwall are currently on the road cycling from London to Rome raising awareness and money for two charities; Admiral Nurses who work with people (and their families who are often more affected) with Alzheimers and Demelza House, which is a hospice that provides respite care and end of life care for children with severe illnesses and life limiting conditions plus amazing long term support for their families.
This incredible group of people have set off on the 26th July 2019 and have already raised OVER £6000, including Gift Aid. This amazing achievement is only set to grow with followers backing their journey. With their goal of raising £10,000 looking like it may be exceeded! We are proud to be apart of this journey as a Petrolab Ride to Rome sponsor and donating towards their very worthwhile cause.
We wish them good luck over the course of their 17-day journey (26th July 2019 to 13th August 2019), as they will cover 1700 miles averaging 80-90 miles a day for most of the journey, including a punishing 45 miles a day through the Alps. In the course of the journey, they will ascend and descent the equivalent of 1.5 times the height of Mt Everest!
